Shuhada Hasim was born in Kuala Lumpur. She graduated from The Universiti Tenaga Nasional in with a Bachelor of Accounting.
She was an external auditor after graduate and was still working with an oil & gas company when she decided to return to school & earned her Executive Diploma in Creative Photography & Digital Imaging from the” Universiti Teknologi Malaysia SPACE” in 2011. While working on her final diploma project, a group exhibition with her fellow classmates, she discovered her deep interest in portraits to be a medium for her photography work. For that particular exhibition, she developed a series of environmental portraits entitled "The Real People Series”.
In 2012, Shuhada’s focus was more on women as her subjects. A turning point in her career occurred when a woman she photographed cried after looking at her own portrait. She started to understand that a portrait of a woman can be so powerful that it makes her feel appreciated, beautiful & lifted her self-confidence. As a result of her portraits association with women’s emotions, personality & motivations, Shuhada started to gain a reputation as a "Woman Portrait Photographer” that photographs "Every Day Women”. Her portraits cover demography of females from the ages of 8 years old to 80 years old depicting boudoir images of glamorous & beautiful women.
Shuhada’s personal journey in discovering her passion and finding her specific photography interests through working with women resonates with her. She wants to keep working closely with women because she feels that portraits is a tool in empowering women and because women have so many powerful elements residing within them.
