Fazli Taufek

Hello, I’m Fazli, a lifestyle photographer, wedding cinematographer, traveler, social media enthusiast and I am from Kuching, Sarawak.

Back in late 2009 I bought my first Canon DSLR, a second hand EOS 450D. I had no knowledge of photography except for the passion of learning it. Soon afterwards, I upgraded to EOS 550D and started playing with videos. Just less in a years’ time, I started doing wedding cinematography until now. In a short time, I manage to balance my work between photo and video. Nevertheless, both were equally satisfying.

I am the co-founder/owner of The Collective Studio, commercially known as The Collective. A group that we started just as a hobby then turned into a business. Now three years in business, we hope to be the best in the local industry. Every day is a challenge for us.

I travel during my past time. Keeping an open mind for the different cultures I see, capturing the moments with my camera. I really love nature especially the beach, most of my photos were taken on the beach. Call me a beach bum, I am sure don’t mind.

Sometimes when I have been in a routine for so long, I tend to look for personal projects just to see things on the other side. Sometimes I shoot with my mobile phones and archived it on my Facebook or Instagram. This brings back the creative boost that is badly needed for a wedding cinematographer.

I shoot things in a photojournalistic way, romantic and dramatic. Most of the time I am unobtrusive and let the ceremony unfolds as it is. Optimistically filled with romance and humor, boiled with emotions and drama. I let them to be themselves on that special day.

I have no verbal stories to tell, just images to share.
